Volunteer Services

The Volunteer Auxiliary at Boone County Hospital makes an impact not only on the hospital, but on patients and families as well.

Gifts Galore Gift Shop is run by the Volunteer Auxiliary and is open Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and on Saturday and Sunday, 12 to 4 p.m. (special hours are offered during the holiday season). All proceeds from the gift shop go directly to the hospital.

The Volunteer Auxiliary sponsors projects throughout the year which include: scholarships, hospital equipment, bake sales, jewelry sales, the decorated chair auction, and the Holiday Open House and Festival of Trees. In 2008, the Auxiliary refurbished and decorated the new Mediation Room located on the main floor of the hospital which is open to visitors any time of day or night.

Volunteers have a huge presence at Boone County Hospital and can be identified by their green smocks. They work in many areas of the hospital including: Gifts Galore, the Coffee Shop, as hostesses in Surgery and the Atrium, and hair care. In addition, they help with open houses, special projects and guide tours.
