Trains, Trails and Treasures...Welcome to Boone, Iowa.  Boone is the birthplace of First Lady Mamie Eisenhower, home to the Iowa Municipal Band Festival, Super Nationals, and the biannual site for the Farm Progress Shows, the nation’s greatest agricultural showcase.

Boone County is located in central Iowa and has a population of 26,224.  Boone has excellent public and parochial schools, the Des Moines Area Community College, great cultural and recreational opportunities, and active churches and civic organizations.  In addition, Boone is only 10 miles from Iowa State University, Ames, one of Iowa’s three main universities, and is a 30 minute drive to Des Moines, the capitol of Iowa.

Area attractions, scenic views and drives, as well as historic landmarks and events make Boone an inviting place to visit and live.
