BCH Board Member Receives Certification from IHA

Troy Thompson, Boone County Hospital (BCH) Board of Trustees, received certfication from the Iowa Hospital Association (IHA) for the IHA Hospital Trustee Education Certification at the 2014 IHA Hospital Governance Forum in Des Moines in early March.

IHA launched its certification program in 2010. Through the program, IHA has provided framework to support Iowa hospitals in developing highly effective board members. Goals of the program include: helping hospitals use best governance practices; promoting coordination of care and the wise use of resources; and demonstrating to community stakeholders that Iowa hospitals are dedicated to accountability and transparency and are governed at the highest level of excellence.

Currently, 70 Iowa hospital trustees have successfully completed the requirements of the Trustee Education Certification program and 15 have completed recertification.
