H1N1 Vaccine, Round Two
Boone County Public Health reminds residents that children ages 6 months through 9 years are recommended to receive two doses of the H1N1 vaccine. The Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommend that the two doses of the vaccine be separated by 28 days. Educating & Empowering U
The BCH Foundation's March 16th Educating and Empowering U noon program will be "Spring into a Heart-y Lifestyle" presented by Connie Buss, BCH Dietitian. Learn how to prevent heart disease through modifiable factors, manage blood pressure and lipids, and prevent or manage coronary artery disease. Lunch will be provided. Call 433-8470 to RSVP.
Diabetes Support Group
"Sleep Disorders and Diabetes" will be the program presented by Cindy Briley, Director of BCH Tech Services, March 18th, 4 p.m., BCH. No reservations required.
Two New Physicians Join BCH Medical Staff
 Timothy Peterson, M.D., received his Medical Degree from the University of Iowa College of Medicine, Iowa City. He completed a Family Practice Residency at Broadlawns Medical Center, Des Moines. Brent Liebert, M.D., received his Medical Degree from Indiana University School of Medicine, Indianpolis, Indiana. He completed a Residency in the Southern Illinois Family Practice Residency Program, Decatur. Both doctors will be working in Emergency Services.
BCH Diabetes Program Merits ADA Recognition
The prestigious American Diabetes Association (ADA) Education Recognition Certificate for a quality diabetes self-management education program was recently awarded to the Diabetes Center at Boone County Hospital (BCH).
