Cathy Wetzeler, a long-time nurse at Boone County Hospital (BCH), was presented with the 2007 Brown Award at the BCH Employee Recognition Dinner at the Gigglin’ Goat, Boone, in December. The Brown Award was established by Weldon J. Brown in honor of his parents, Eunice D. and Everett C. Brown, long-time residents of Boone. Each year, hospital employees nominate co-workers for the award who demonstrate outstanding service and exceptional accomplishments. The BCH Reward and Recognition Team then reviews all of the nominations and chooses one individual for the award. The recipient of the award receives a $50 savings bond. Cathy was nominated by a co-worker who says, “Cathy is always willing to go the ‘extra mile’ for her patients and staff. She willingly takes numerous calls from staff during her ‘off’ time to answer questions, solve problems, etc. Cathy goes above and beyond on a daily basis!”
