 Joe Smith, Boone County Hospital (BCH) CEO, has been elected as the Treasurer of the Iowa Hospital Association (IHA) Board; he will serve a one-year term. Joe has been the CEO of BCH since 1993 and has served on the IHA Board since 2002. In 1999, he received the Young Executive Achievement Award from IHA. Born in Waterloo and raised in Des Moines, Joe earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Iowa State University and holds graduate degrees in Health Care Administration and Business Administration. He serves on the Board of the Des Moines Area Community College Foundation and also on the Hospice of Central Iowa Board.
