BCH Welcomes Two New Nurse Pracitioners

September 29, 2014

Boone County Hospital (BCH) is pleased to welcome Melinda Altman, ARNP, to its staff.  Melinda has more than 20 years of direct patient care experience.  Most recently, she worked at St. Luke’s Hospital, Cedar Rapids, in the Emergency Room.  Melinda will be splitting her time between the Wound and Hyperbaric Center and providing nursing home coverage for the patients of Boone County Family Medicine physicians at Eastern Star and Westhaven.  The additional coverage will allow BCH to increase services and support in both areas.

Mel Hilsabeck, ARNP, recently graduated from Kaplan University, Chicago, Illinois, with a Master’s of Science in Nursing.  Mel has been the clinic manager at the Madrid Family Practice Clinic since 2004 and received her Bachelors of Science in Nursing in 2011.  She replaces Nicole Goliber, PA-C, as the primary care provider at the clinic and will begin her duties some time this fall.  While Mel transitions into her new role, Dr. Jacobs will provide patient care at the clinic.
