Healthcare Heroes Recognized
Boone County Hospital's first Healthcare Heroes have been recognized.
Becky Dakin, Housekeeping, is Boone County Hospital’s (BCH) very first Healthcare Hero and was nominated by a patient. “Every time I asked Becky for help, she did it right away. That’s the help you should have here,” said the patient. “She is a really good worker, and when you are sick, that’s the kind of person you should have work here. Thank you.” Becky (pictured with CEO Joe Smith) received her Healthcare Heroes pin and certificate during a department meeting. | |
Wound Clinic nurses Cathy Wetzeler, Ruth Anderson and Mary Lynn Papin, pictured with Foundation Director Sara Behn, were recognized in late May for being Healthcare Heroes. They were nominated by BCH employee Wendy Edwards. “My daughter Bailey had burns on her leg which I didn’t realize were third degree burns. The Wound Clinic staff is awesome. Their compassion and concern are genuine. The knowledge and treatment provided was outstanding. They were able to aggressively treat the burns and save her from skin grafts and going to Iowa City. The comfort they provided me (when I was crying) was beyond what they ‘had’ to do. They are wonderful!” says Wendy. |
Congratulations to all of you!
