New Cancer Support Group

A new Cancer Support Group started in January 2014. The next Cancer Support Group will meet February 18, 6:30 p.m., Boone County Hospital 1st Floor Conference Room (located by the cafeteria). Betty Irons, RD, will be the guest speaker this month and will talk about "Dietary Options and Preparation While on Chemotherapy."

The group offers support, companionship and encouragement for those who have cancer and those who care for an individual with cancer. Research shows support groups help reduce the three most significant stressors associated with cancer: unwanted aloneness, loss of control and loss of hope.
