BCH 2108 Brown Award Winner Announced

January 22, 2019

Congratulations to Jill Higgins, Boone County Hospital (BCH) Home Care Services, who was honored as the 2018 Brown Award Winner at a Recognition Ceremony in the BCH Atrium on January 21st.

Weldon J. Brown established the Brown Award in honor of his parents, Eunice D. and Everett C. Brown, long-time residents of Boone. Each year, hospital employees nominate co-workers for the award that demonstrates outstanding service and exceptional accomplishments. The BCH Laughs and Recognition Committee then selects one employee from all of the nominations that were submitted to be recognized.

Jill is a Licensed Social Worker and helps manage the Home Care Aides and Meals on Wheels Program; in addition, she helps at the Free Clinic and assists with float in the Pufferbilly Days Parade. One of her co-workers said, “Jill is quick to help out anyone whether someone is coming into the office needing assistance or helping a co-worker even if it’s not her job.” She adds, “Jill has always given her best to her clients and people in the community who need her help and guidance. She has been at BCH over 20 years and is eager to assist at work and in the Free Clinic.”

Jill was given an award certificate and a monetary gift for being the Brown Award winner.
