Status: Full-Time - 40 Hours per Week

Shift: Days

Shift Time/Schedule:  Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm


Education:  BSN or related bachelors degree preferred.

Experience:  Recent/current clinical experience.  Supervisory/leadership/management experience preferred. 

3-5 years experience with MS Word, Excel, Power Point, an Electronic Medical Record system, e-mail and internet research.  Demonstrated ability to be self-directed with excellent organizational, analytical, writing, interpersonal and project management skills.

Duties Include:  

  • Supports Hospital HIS/EMR application(s) and other third party supporting applications.

  • Independently facilitates design of clinical workflow in conjunction with the clinicians and provides guidance to Clinical Analysts in designing improved efficiencies, solving complex workflow issues and incorporating quality initiatives.

  • Leads unit and integrated testing of the software to ensure that the design objectives are met, including the development and validation of testing scripts. Maintains and utilizes a high degree of understanding of clinical departments’ business processes.

  • Troubleshoots application issues, with/without vendor assistance, to resolution.

  • Utilize data extract/transform/load tools and SQL-based scripting methods to import/export data and to design, test, and implement processes for bulk record add, update or delete as required to support application.

  • Perform necessary data manipulation/format modification of source data to achieve optimal uniformly for data comparison, conversion and standardization across source data systems and interfaces.

  • Partners with end users to understand workflow and business processes.

  • Maintains system security for assigned applications.

  • Manages and provides guidance to Informatics Clinical Analysts in all position related activities.

  • Acts as the team project lead in partnership with other assigned Project Managers on all phases of a project; from scoping and design through implementation and transition to Operations.

  • Mentors more junior level Analysts.

  • Knowledge and experience with industry standard report writers such as NPR, MAT, and SQL; produces and maintains custom reports.

  • Provides input to components of development of end-user training materials and participates in training efforts.

  • Assists other team members in ensuring good documentation standards.

  • Leads escalation of issues with appropriate internal resources, to resolution.

  • Develops policies and procedures in collaboration with users/clinicians, other analyst team members, and IT Clinical team manager.

  • Works with IT Systems Administrators to implement application upgrades and troubleshooting efforts and provides guidance to more junior level clinical analysts.

  • Supports and troubleshoots Hospital Information Systems interfaces.

  • Creates reports and assigns work problem tickets to Clinical Analysts.

  • Evaluates and maintains appropriate system documentation.

  • Collaborates with other clinical analysts to insure system integrations.

  • Performs on-call duties as assigned.

Position Summary:  This individual will work collaboratively with users of clinical information systems in the Hospital and the Physician Clinics.
