Position Description: Registered Nurse, License Practical Nurse, Certified Medical Assistant

Status: Full-Time - 32 Hours per Week

Shift: Day

Shift Time Schedule: 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Days: Monday thru Friday



Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: Graduate from an accredited program for Registered Nurse, License Practical Nurses and Certified Medical Assistant. Strong interpersonal skills, strong computer skills. Previous clinical experience in a medical office preferred. Knowledge of professional nursing theory and practice to give and evaluate care. Current license or certification to practice in the State of Iowa. BLS and Mandatory Reporting Certification.

Position Summary: Assists in the delivery of primary health care services and patient care management in our physician clinics under direction of the physician/provider.

Essential Functions: Performs general nursing care to patients. Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with nursing standards. Develop staff schedules, review of staffing needs and the supervision and training of staff in good patient relations and office policies and procedures as directed by the Clinic Director. Be aware of what is happening in clinic/department and the organization by attending clinic/department meetings. Greets patients and prepares them for examination, procedures and treatments. Aids physician during treatment, examination, and testing of patients. Identifies the need for pre-authorization and/or  physician referral. Observes, records, and reports patient's condition and reaction to drugs and treatments to physicians. Responsible for obtaining and documenting medical histories, current medication lists, immunizations and vital signs in the medical record. Performs diagnostic tests as ordered by provider (example: EKG, PFT) and for which training has been given. Other duties as assigned.
