Trestle Hustle Recap 2026
The 17th Annual Trestle Hustle took place on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at the High Trestle Trail in Madrid. It was our biggest and best year yet, with 208 athletes signed up to participate in the 5K, 10K, Duathlon, and virtual events. Athletes joined us from across Iowa, along with participants from Illinois and Missouri.
We could not have asked for a better race day. With beautiful weather, a scenic trail, and an incredible group of athletes, volunteers, and supporters, the morning was full of energy and encouragement from start to finish. The event once again served as the kickoff to High Trestle Fest, celebrating the communities along the High Trestle Trail.

A heartfelt thank you goes out to the many volunteers who helped make the day run smoothly, from setup and check-in to route support, bike aid, medals, and clean up. We are especially grateful to Amy Bachman, Jessica Van Dalen, Christine VanderLeest, Reilynn Anderson, Wills Evenski, Nicki Gollob, Rebecca Steimel, Kayla and Chris Torres, Amy Laube, Mindy Mills, Heather, Calvin and Marcus Cook, Kala Fowles, Raph Montag, Clare Moeller, Angie Walsh, Juanita Gilley, Malarie Bender, and Chris Mann.
Special thanks also go to the Boone County Sheriff’s Department, including Shane Lovig for covering Highway 210; BCH Ambulance, including Josh Dodd and Kelli Andersen; and the BCH Engineering Department, including Brandon Alden and Collin Gibbins, for helping load, transport, set up, and tear down event supplies. Their support helped keep race morning safe and organized.
Thank you to Letter Eats by B and BFit Boone for providing delicious post-race food and beverages, and to Keurig Dr Pepper for donating drinks for our athletes. We are also grateful to Creative Cousins Photography, Courtney Davidson, and Michael Magee for capturing so many wonderful race-day moments.
Most importantly, thank you to the 200+ athletes who showed up, gave it their all, and made this year’s Trestle Hustle such a memorable event. By participating, you supported more than a race — you supported the Boone County Hospital Foundation and our mission to provide resources to Boone County Hospital for equipment, programs, and services that otherwise would not be available. Funds raised through events like Trestle Hustle help make a real difference for patients, families, and communities right here close to home.
