COVID-19 Vaccine

COVID-19 vaccinations are available to Boone County residents through Boone County Public Health and Boone County Hospital.  The vaccine is  distributed based on guidelines developed by the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and the Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH).  The vaccine is allocated from the IDPH on a regular basis.

What you need to know:

  • Boone County Public Health and Boone County Hospital will distribute available vaccine based on a priority system developed by the IDPH.  More information can be found at COVID-19 Eligibility.

  • COVID-19 Vaccine Clinics will be scheduled as the vaccine is made available to Boone County. 

  • The COVID vaccine line is open Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.  PLEASE CALL (515) 433-8299 (VAXX).  People calling in will have the option to hold or wait for a call back while not losing their place in line.   

  • We also have an online scheduling system you can access.  CLICK HERE!  If all appointments are full, please register on our wait list.

  • Please do not call your physicians office to inquire about COVID-19 vaccine availability.  At this time, all distribution will be through Boone County Public Health and Boone County Hospital.

  • Boone County Hospital has a COVID-19 Nurse Phone Line.  If you have questions and concerns related to COVID-19, call (515) 433-8989 and one of our experienced nurses will assist you Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
