BCH and UnityPoint Clinic to Merge Family Medicine Clinics

June 6, 2016

Boone County Hospital (BCH) and UnityPoint Clinic® Family Medicine – Boone are pleased to announce that the UnityPoint Clinic in Boone will be merging with the BCH’s Boone County Family Medicine Clinic in the near future.  Under the new arrangement, BCH will own and operate the medical practices currently operated by UnityPoint Clinic.  Both organizations see this consolidation of services as an opportunity to better meet the healthcare needs of patients in Boone and surrounding areas.

“The UnityPoint Clinic has been a great partner with Boone County Hospital over the years.  We believe that bringing all the physicians in the community together into a single organization will allow us to better leverage our resources and compete more successfully in the future,” says Joe Smith, CEO of Boone County Hospital.  “We look forward to finalizing our plans and continuing our mission of improving and enhancing the health and well-being of those we serve.

Patients can continue to receive primary care services at both the existing UnityPoint Clinic and at Boone County Family Medicine in Boone and Ogden.  Once final details are available, and we have a timeframe for the transition, additional information will be provided to patients.

“We really want this to be as seamless as possible for our patients and their families,” says Smith.  “By combining clinic operations, we will be able to improve access and develop a more integrated system of care between the Hospital and our physicians.”

Specialty services from UnityPoint Clinic will continue to be available through the Specialty Clinic at Boone County Hospital.
