The Boone County Hospital Foundation (BCHF) once again had record-breaking numbers at the 7th Annual Mike Scheuermann Memorial Golf Tournament. The tournament was at full capacity with 40 teams and 160 golfers. Mike ordered up great weather—sunshine with a breeze.
Bell Medical was tournament champion, capturing 1st place. New this year was a traveling trophy which will have their team name engraved on it. HyVee came in 2nd, and the Nerem team came in 3rd. The putting contest winner was Matt Grabau. Randy Schmitz and Genev Calek won the longest drive; Shawn Moran and Mary Youngblood won the shortest drive, and Dave Van Bruggen and Courtney Davidson had the longest putt. Bob Flynn was the highest bidder winning the ICubs Suite donated by Access Systems; he also won the coveted Yeti cooler in the raffle drawing. Cindy Garvey was the winner of the 50/50 raffle ($131).
The final net profit has not yet been determined, but it should be over $10,000, which goes back to support BCHF projects.
The Foundation’s gratitude goes out to those who helped make this day a great success. Thank you to Boone County Hospital (BCH) Nutrition Services for preparing breakfast sandwiches and cinnamon rolls, VisionBank for the pass-thru brat lunch, Saint’s Avenue for the chicken dinner, Culligan for donating water, Keurig Dr. Pepper for other beverages, and Flynn Real Estate for the beer keg. To all the volunteers, corporate sponsors, hole sponsors, Mike’s family and friends, Cedar Pointe Golf Course, the BCH Foundation Golf Committee, the BCH Engineering Department, and of course, all our golfers...THANK YOU. You all make this day extra special and a huge success!
