Weldon J. Brown established the Brown Award in honor of his parents, Eunice D. and Everett C. Brown, long-time residents of Boone. Each year, BCH employees nominate co-workers for the award that demonstrates outstanding service and exceptional accomplishments. The BCH Employee Rewards and Recognition Committee then selects one employee from all of the nominations to be recognized.

The DAISY (Diseases Attacking the Immune System) Award is an international recognition program that honors and celebrates the skillful, compassionate care nurses provide every day. The DAISY Foundation was established by the family of J. Patrick Barnes after he died from complications of the auto-immune disease ITP in 1999. During his hospitalization, they deeply appreciated the care and compassion shown to Patrick and his entire family. When he died, they felt compelled to say “thank you” to nurses in a very public way. We are proud to recognize our nurses with The DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses.

Healthcare Heroes Program
The Boone County Hospital Foundation would like to say thank you to patients and visitors for choosing our hospital for their healthcare needs. As healthcare providers, we aim to make a difference in the lives of our patients. The Healthcare Heroes Program offers visitors and guests the opportunity to say thank you to a BCH employee for going beyond your expectations. Nominated employees or volunteers will be recognized for the exceptional care they provided.
Employee Recognition Events
Employees can recognize a co-worker for going above and beyond with a WOW! card. The WOW! card then goes on display in the Cafeteria. A random winner from all of the cards for the year will be drawn at the end of the year for a prize.
