Our Hospital

Boone County Hospital (BCH) is a 25-bed critical access Hospital in Boone, Iowa.  The Hospital has been serving the healthcare needs of Boone County and the surround communities since the early 1900s.  

BCH is comprised of:

  • Adult Day Care Services

  • Boone County Family Medicine North and South

  • Boone County Family Medicine, Ogden, and Madrid Family Practice Clinic, Madrid (both rural health clinics)  

  • Cardiac Rehab

  • Diabetes Services

  • Emergency Rooms, seven (with multiple ambulances and a helipad)

  • Family Birth Center

    • Four LDRs

  • General Surgery/Foot/Ankle Surgery Clinic

  • Lab and Radiology, in-house

  • Outpatient Infusion Center

  • Pain Clinic

  • Pharmacy

  • Rehab Services, inpatient and outpatient (Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Speech Therapy)

  • Specialty Clinic (providers from Ames and Des Moines provide a variety of specialty services)

  • Surgery Department

    • Two operating rooms

    • Two endoscopy suites

    • Eight same day surgery rooms

    • Two recovery bays

  • Walk-In Clinic

  • Wound and Hyperbaric Center with two chambers

The Boone Community

Boone County is located in central Iowa and has a population of over 26,000.  The city of Boone has a population of over 12,000.  Boone has excellent public an parochial schools, the Des Moines Area Community College, great cultural and recreational opportunities, and active churches and civic organizations.  In addition, Boone is only 15 minutes from Iowa State University, Ames, one of Iowa's three main universities, and is a 40-minute drive to Des Moines, the capitol of Iowa.
