BCH Brown Award Winner
Congratulations to Cindy Bishop, Boone County Hospital (BCH) Surgery Department, who was honored as the 2021 Brown Award Winner at a ceremony in the BCH Cafeteria on March 7th.
Weldon J. Brown established the Brown Award in honor of his parents, Eunice D. and Everett C. Brown, long-time residents of Boone. Each year, hospital employees nominate co-workers for the award that demonstrates outstanding service and exceptional accomplishments. The BCH Laughs and Recognition Committee then selects one employee from all of the nominations that were submitted to be recognized.
Cindy has been a BCH employee for 40 years. “Cindy is outstanding in every way at work,” says one of her co-workers. “She helps whenever she is needed, and even assists us in moving patients and cleans rooms to help with turnover for cases. She is good at seeing what is needed and communicates well with all those involved in patient care.”
Another co-worker says, “Cindy is kind, considerate and compassionate. Her work ethic is unquestioned, and she is always willing to go above and beyond to ensure her team has what it needs and that patients can be cared for. Time and time again she has diligently caught errors that would negatively impact patient care, and she has the integrity to ensure that these issues are addressed in a timely matter. She exemplifies the type of work ethic and heart that our organization strives to portray.”
“Cindy always does more than her job description and goes above and beyond. She is helpful to patients and co-workers,” says another co-worker.
Cindy was given an award certificate and a monetary gift for being the Brown Award winner.
