BCH Participates in STEM Event
Boone County Hospital (BCH) staff played an active role in STEM night held at Franklin Elementary on February 28th. It was an opportunity for our staff to teach children and their families about the many roles available in healthcare.
STEM night is a popular interactive experience for students and their families. It’s an open-house type format with activity stations in classrooms. Teachers lead hands-on STEM activities in each room.
Families with pre-k through 4th grade students were invited to travel from room to room and visit the stations to do activities together. The goal of the event is for students and their parents to grow in their awareness of:
-
-STEM learning and why it’s important
-
-the broad range of STEM related careers
-
-the ever-changing opportunities within traditional careers
-
-the connection between what they learn at school and skills they may need as an adult in the Workforce
Thank you to BCH Lab, Radiology, Tech Services, several nursing departments, EMS, Pharmacy and Administration for being a part of this event.
