Bob Getschman Appointed to BCH Board of Trustees
Bob Getschman of Boone has been appointed to the Boone County Hospital Board of Trustees. Bob will fill out the term of Bruce Anderson who stepped down from the Board at the end of 2016 after serving for 13 years. Bob’s term will run through 2018.
Bob retired from DEKALB/Monsanto three years ago after a 37-year career as a corn breeder working in the research division. “Being on the Board of Trustees is a good way to give back to the community and the hospital,” says Bob. “Our family has used Boone County Hospital and the local physicians for the past 40 years we have lived in Boone. We have always received excellent care and are lucky to have a quality local hospital that we feel comfortable using.”
Board of Trustees Chair Troy Thompson says, “Dr. Getschman will bring to the Board of Trustees many years of administrative experience, combined with a love for the mission of the hospital. I am excited that his leadership and administrative skills will benefit the central Iowa community that depends on the success of Boone County Hospital.”
“I hope to contribute to the board's goal of being fiscally responsible and bringing high quality medical care to the Boone community,” says Bob. “We need to assess what new services can be provided to the community to keep Boone County Hospital competitive.”
Bob and his wife Rhonda have two grown sons who live out of state.
