Congratulations to Boone Volunteers of the Year

Organizations like Boone County Hospital (BCH) and the Iowa Arboretum and Gardens, along with many other entities throughout Boone County, cannot function without volunteers. The countless hours donated to our organizations make such a big difference in our ability to meet our mission and we are extremely grateful for all who give back to BCH.
Bob and Rhonda Getchman were nominated and selected as 2025 Volunteers of the Year through the Boone County Convention and Visitors Bureau for their work at both the Iowa Arboretum and BCH.
Rhonda has been an unbelievable member of the BCH Auxiliary for over ten years. She manages Gifts Galore which includes choosing and buying the items that are sold and gives endless hours working on displaying the items so everything looks just right!
Bob has been volunteering as a BCH Trustee since 2016. The Trustee role takes a significant amount of time and dedication. Bob has seen the organization through various challenges including the pandemic and the transition to a new CEO. He takes his role on the Board seriously and ensures good governance is taking place to best serve our communities. This past January, Bob took on the role of Board Chairman, and in March he was recognized by the Iowa Hospital Association for becoming a certified Trustee.
The Getchman’s have given countless hours to Boone County Hospital. Their efforts have helped ensure we are able to meet our mission for those we serve, and we are extremely grateful for all that they do. Congratulations Bob and Rhonda!
