Congratulations to our very own Jess Harrison, Director of Surgery Services, who has been nominated as one of Iowa’s 100 Great Nurses!

This honor couldn’t be more well‑deserved. Anyone who has worked with Jess knows the passion, steadiness, and compassion she brings into every interaction. Whether she’s supporting her team, advocating for patients, or helping navigate challenges behind the scenes, Jess shows—day after day—what exceptional nursing leadership looks like.

The Great Iowa Nurses program, which began in 2004 and was revived in 2022 with support from Mary Greeley Medical Center, recognizes nurses across the state who consistently go above and beyond. These are nurses who make a profound difference—not only in patient care, but in the growth of colleagues, the strength of their teams, and the health of their communities. Jess embodies each of these qualities with humility and heart.

Her nomination is a testament to her leadership, mentorship, and unwavering dedication to those we serve. We are incredibly proud to see her recognized among Iowa’s finest.
