Rebecca Clark is Daisy Award Winner
Congratulations to Rebecca Clark, CRNA, Surgery, Boone County Hospital (BCH), who received the 2018 Daisy Award. Rebecca was presented the award at the Nurses Day Recognition Breakfast in May.
Several of Rebecca’s peers sent in nominations for her. One peer said, “Rebecca goes above and beyond in every aspect of patient care. She makes it a point to try to make every patient feel at ease. She is a wonderful patient advocate and teacher. She takes the time to educate patients about what they may experience.” Another peer said, “Everyday Rebecca comes to work with a smile on her face and greets everyone with a ‘good morning.’ She is very compassionate and always thinking about her patients. One of things she has done for a patient is play their favorite music for them prior to their procedure to calm them.”
The DAISY (Diseases Attacking the Immune System) Award is an international recognition program that honors and celebrates the skillful, compassionate care nurses provide every day. The DAISY Award for extraordinary nurses was created in memory of J. Patrick Barnes who died at 33 of ITP, an autoimmune disease. The Barnes Family was awestruck by the clinical skills, caring and compassion of the nurses who cared for Patrick, so they created this award to say thank you to nurses everywhere. This recognition award has now been embraced by healthcare organizations around the world.
